Assignment 1

Has been submitted. I wrote it probably a couple of days after I got it, and slightly refined it about a week ago, based on a few posts in the discussion boards.

Took the opportunity while Rach was out, and the boys are in bed. I actually forgot to put that I compiled against 1.4.2 in the readme, but it should be ok.
